Default do i need this bolt??

hey all to my centre pipe off yesterday to put cat on for mot and snapped this bolt

can i replace with normal nut and bolt?

no it needs the spring to allow a bit of flex IIRC

ive replaced just the nut and bolt but used the spring still would that suffice until normal parts are found?

I think I have my old ones if you want them, Ill double check but you can have them for the price of postage.

I've used stainless nuts and bolts with big stainless washers on this part of my system for around 10 years on both impreza's - you will be fine as long as you don't clamp the spring right down.

+1 for the above no need to panic,a normal bolt with some trilok nuts & your spring will do just fine . If you feel you want the genuine items then here you go:

agree with a couple washers in place to retain spring it be fine.

as said dont coil bind the spring - just enough to ensure a decent seal
