Default Condensation

I have a 95 wrx import and when I finish driving and turn car off getting condensation on front windscreen which seems to be coming from the heating vents, also water levels seem to be going down so I'm putting two and two together and guessin it's linked. Anyone else had this problem or got any ideas what's going on?

Jay

Sounds like the heater matrix has gone.

Check for damp carpets high up on either side. The damp tastes slightly sweet, that's ethylene glycol, anti-freeze to you.

HELL of a job, but can be done, do a search on here, there is a how to thread.

Can I just disconnect it for now? Would that be a easier solution? It's having a load of work while I am on tour so if I can just sort of pull the plug on it and get it sorted while it's in bits that would e easier.

Any suggestions?

Jay

How much we talking? I need to confirm it is that first and it's not just a leak in a pipe or something minor.

If its a heating matrix leak you may get a funny sweet almost 'wee wee' smell through the heating vents.

You can arrange to disconnect and run without it, yes, you need a piece of pipe to connect the two going into the matrix.
Sorry, I don't know the diameter or any details.

If you decide to go that way, I suggest a new thread to ask. Or a search.

Underneath the intercooler you will find the matrix pipes can't remember from
Memory which one I disconnected now ( take one end out and plug with the other pipe) it does work just won't have warm heaters lol, or and btw its a pain in the **** of a job mate trust me ain't long done mine! Sorry to say mate can be done but the complete dash, clocks, support bars everything comes out to get at it as its right against the bulkhead and one ****ter of a job! Good luck if you decide to tackle it yourself mate.
