Engine cut out and management light on?

Engine cut out and management light on?
Drove my 03 wrx today and just pulled out of my drive way onto the road and the engine cut out and the engine management light came on, I restarted the engine and it seems to run ok but the light stays on now, anyone got any ideas what could cause the engine to just cut out? I'm guessing sensor may be, I don't know
