So thats a sports cat in the downpipe AND another one in the centre pipe????

And as for the bore, 2.5" systems are good to circa 480bhp, 3" is overkill for most people!

Yep considering fitting a newage 3" Milltek to a classic. But being a newage it has a sports cat in downpipe and another small one in the centre section. So farily restrictive but figure the extra diameter will help to offset this.

I've often felt there is far too much emphasis on Exhaust, and good to hear the kind of power possible with/without sports cats and diameter.

A 2.5/2.75" system was another direction I was considering so you have answered that one.

Spec is a forged 2.5 in a classic running a MD321V at about 1.6/1.7bar held on the road - I'm not looking to max it out and currently running approx 440 at the moment but may push that up a little. Depending on how things go with my current ECU.

To keep the sound levels down and what was supposed to be a temporary fix, I've currently got a full 3" decat mateing up to a 2.5" Magnex rear box with 4" tail. Which is far from ideal, but sounds nice, and would still probably be enought to flow the power I'm current at, and halfway tempted to save myself some cash and leave it at that TBH.

The milltek only has one 100cel cat in the centre, the downpipe has a resonator in it.

By the time the exhaust gases have got to the rear box they would have cooled so 2.5" should be ok, its the downpipe that is most important.

there is no such thing as too free flowing exhaust with a turbo mate
