I have a 2006 Impreza Hawkeye WRX. Just before Christmas a scratching noise started when I fired up from cold. This is coming form a circular plastic part in the top right of the engine. This noise stops after about 20 seconds and does not happen again if I start up warm. The engine mgmt light came on but my local garage cleared and it has not returned. Around the same as this happened another new noise can be heard from inside the car and sounds like a fluttering noise when I take my foot off the accelerator. This noise does not happen when my foot is down or when the car is stationary and revving. I am at a loss and falling out of love with my car ! Anybody had this before ?? I would love to get it perfect again. If anybody has any mechanic contacts around the Wigan / Warrington area as well I would like to go to somebody who knows Subarus but does not charge main dealer money !

It sounds like the Air pump it only works on cold start ..
