Why Are my brakes squeaking?
I'm sure it's the brakes guys but just wanted to know if anyone's had this before as my last scoob had it aswell.
Whilst driving (especially when brakes are hot) they start squeaking.. But stop when brake is applied. Then again when let off brake pedal.
Pads or disks? Bearing in mind that the disks are like new.

i have the same thing on my classic, first i put 2 new cv joints then new grooved drilled discs and mintex pads all round on last year and i noticed i get a squeaking noise, but when i put the brake pedal down the squeak goes away then comes back when off again but only after been driving 30 mins - 1 hr or so, first i thought it was because it was all new and need to bed in but still does it maybe its just character of the pads. i even thought it was the cv joints not having enough oil or the diff until i realised it goes away when the brake is applied but did the diff oil anyway as put in a replacement gearbox and new clutch recently.

What condition are the pads in ? Worn pads could cause this.
Probably worth taking the wheel off and having a look

Were the pads difficult to get in?
I've had it that the pads were really tight getting into the caliper and it was the pads not being able to slide away from the disc enough when the brake pedal was released. I simply cleaned up the calipers and shaved a bit off the sides of the pads so they just dropped into the caliper. Then, no more squeaking

yes thats how it is with mine, when ive been driving for a bit maybe 30 mins to an hour it starts to squeak but not straight away so must be when warm and not cold and definitely goes when i put the brake pedal down.
