I don't use the blue filters, I prefer to use a Mazda filter which is made by the same manufacturer as the old black subaru filters. It has the same bypass valve pressure as the Subaru (higher than most inc other supposed oe spec filters) too.

A lot of people say there's nothing wrong with the blue ones but the quality looks poor to me and I'd rather use a better quality item. The blue ones are probably ok but then carlube oil is probably ok... If you know what I mean!

Part no is N3R1-14-302 for anyone interested.

Which of those do you think is the best??
The new subaru filters are so light it feels like they've been made from chewing gum

Personally I'd go for the UFI, they're really popular and good value, we've sold loads of them for Subarus and have had no problems at all. We only got the Subaru ones as a lot of Subaru owners seem to want the own brand ones.

Cheers

Tim
