Default Screamer question?

Made and fitted an internal wg screamer pipe yesterday on my standard decat downpipe, bit of an experiment, i cant seem to find any info on this anywhere so here goes;

Once its warmed up, when i put my foot down the boost comes in as normal around 4.5k, with the screamer its around 3.7-4k, then at 5.5 i get a massive surge of boost which i assume is over boost? Juat wondering if its normal for this to happen?

Im running standard td05, only got launsport rep exhaust and screamer, standard boost. Thanks for any info

You need a custom downpipe where the mouth should be seperated. If its not seperated then it will behave like a big leak.

I dont know it can be anything. The wastegate penny may be touching your custom jobbie or the leak may be causing the issue. Who knows?

Have you got a boost gauge, check that & see what boost you are getting.

Picking up a gauge later, pretty sure its not touching as when i made it i used a mock td04 exhaust housing with no actuator rod and it seemed to open it should? If it because its leaking, why would a minor leak cause such a surge?
