I am just installing a wallbro 255 fuel pump and was wondering i should remove the rubber at the bottom as it does not seem to be very secure.
Also should i use any zip ties to secure the pump or is petrol too corrosive?

sorry to hijack the thread but, not being of a mechanical mind how does the fuel tank not catch fire? given that there are electrical connectors inside the actual tank?
i've always wondered that nsurely there must be some risk of spark with a live and ground?

Electrical connections are safe within petrol when its liquid or as an over-rich air/fuel mixture as you would find inside a sealed fuel tank.
Only dangerous when it escapes into the atmosphere and enters the flammable range.
