Default advice on back to standard

morning all, car insurance has gone up again and thinking of getting rid of the scooby. its a my00 uk turbo.
I have changed the turbo to vf28 with sti intercooler and walbro pump and a remap.
The car has full service history and i was thinking it will attract more attention if it was back to standard. Can i just change the turbo back to td04 and buy a standard ecu and not worry about re-map again?

Well its cheaper just to sell your ecu and pick up a standard one, otherwise you would need to remap when going back to the td04.

A classic ecu wont fit your car, you would need an ecu from an MY01/02 wrx.

I've spent hours on the phone, until I get points off and claim past 5? Years I've no chance. On top of that running costs and maintain costs it's just to much. I'm paying more a year than what the cars worth, so a couple of years with a family diesel I think
