They mostly all come from factory with green. Its fine to use in a 99. I'd be inclined to look at whats in there red, blue or green and stick with it. A change of colour (type of coolant) really needs a complete system flush. Ive done it an it took to or three goes to totally get rid if the green in my car. I switched to red coz i have a free supply of it.

Jeez lads, the colour is a dye, nothing more.

Just ensure that what you use is suitable for an alloy engine and contains a corrosion inhibitor. End of.

Make sure you completely change the fluid if changing types.

ALWAYS fill coolant S L O W L Y.

disagree. The red is generally has a longer life and is oat based. Shouldnt be mixed with anything else. Thats why in my earlier post i suggested the op stayed with what was already in the car. If it was just die. Why would a supplier i.e. Castral, commer do 2 or 3 different coloured products? Colours of coolants should not be mixed.

There is currently no coolant as the engine I have only just bought it recently from Scoobyspares ... I've made a few changes and have now just dropped the engine
Inplace,
Now time for all fluids etc to go in which is why I raised the question about the coolant

From what I was told in past oats is for the later newage ... Just wondered what other people was using interms of products and that the comma stream green is good to go ..

Thanks

Yes, definitely. Whichever coolant you decide to use, its manufacturer won't guarantee its full protective capabilities or lifespan unless mixed with deionised water, which should tell you something.

It actually says so on the container?

Thought not.

Another motoring myth.

No, not a myth. Taking Comma Xtream Green as an example, it says so on the pdf instructions you can download straight from their website:

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
1. Dilute with de-ionised water in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Pour into vehicle cooling system.
3. Do not mix different types of Antifreezes. If in doubt about product suitability, refer to vehicle
handbook.
4. Remove spills from paintwork immediately.
http://www.commaoil.com/productsguid...57b5c906c49e72

I'd be extremely surprised if it doesn't say exactly the same on the container itself.
