Default "NATIONAL" Clutch Kit For WRX 2.0 4WD

Hi

I just changed the clutch kit in Subaru Impreza WRX 2001 2.0 5 speed 4WD.

The reason for changing the clutch was a very noisy bearing.

We fitted the "NATIONAL" clutch kit which was just £80.

Unfortunately after changing the clutch kit nothing really changed - the new bearing is making exactly the same noise.

Can somebody tell me what may be possible reason for that?

Did anybody ever been in similar situation?

Regards

Obviously it wasn't the bearing. I'd be thinking gear box but it's impossible to say without hearing the noise.

Could also be the pilot bearing in the flywheel..............

I was thinking about the main gearbox shaft, because the gearbox looks like it was previousley fixed (it's siliconed all around).

The flywheel is all right - you can only hear the noise when you pressing the clutch pedal - when you relase the clutch the noise will stop.

Thad does sound like the release bearing.it's unlikely but maybe you got a duff kit. You sure the new bearing was fitted?

Yes it was a brand new bearing. I took it out from the box and I fitted It by myself like I did many times before.

You can only hear the sound when you realising the clutch and it does sound like the release bearing.

If you hear the sound When pressing the pedal down it's the release bearing. If you hear the sound when letting the pedal up it's the gear box.
