Default Idiots guide to fitting neutral position switch please

As title, done a few searches, some say 15 minute job others saying pita job because of gearbox mounts, anyone have a step by step guide please, its a 2001 wrx 5 speed, thanks in advance

Get under the car on the passenger side, towards rear of the gearbox on the passenger side is the NPS. Unplug it, unscrew it (not sure what size spanner) fit new item and plug in. It really is as simple as that, although it is a little fiddly. 15-30 mins dependent on how much of a biff you are, it took me 30 mins!!

As above the 5 speed is the easy one, 6-speed is a PITA

Sounds ok, as I am a spanner with a spanner though better make that 45 minutes!!!

As above its the sti 6speed thats a bit of a pig mate.

Well I am crap at mechanics so better make that 45 minutes to a hour, cheers chaps!!!

5 speed 20 minute job..

Obviously need get it up and off ramp and also diagnostic check and test drive all is well.

£50 is fair

Can a 6 speed be done without dropping gearbox?
