Default Socket to fit....

...inside Closed Deck Block cooling channels to split block....No.1 in this pic. 12 point 12mm socket has too much play as the bolt-head is coroded.

GpMarty PM'd me to say he used anti-slip sockets but that was on open deck and i'm not sure they will fit inside the channel.

I would try and use the antislip sockets and if it doesn't fit get it in a lathe and machine it down so it does fit.

Do you mean a slightly-smaller-than-12mm socket in imperial sizes, IE in between 11-12mm?.

A 12mm surface drive socket should work and shouldn't be any bigger than a standard 12mm socket.

Are you trust worthy? Could lend you the one I bought for the exact same thing.

Alternatively go to Halfords, You need a deep multi-point socket, 12 mm. No larger than 3/8 drive though, as it won't fit since you need a narrow walled socket. About £5 for the Halfords Professional one.

Damn, should have read your OP properly.

As above, try an Imperial sized socket.
