scooby owner again! need advice if poss
hi all after a few year break i have brought another scooby, my last scooby was an sti v-ltd, traded it in fort a skyline. bad mistake
oh well, i have just purchased a year2000 impreza awd 2000 turbo, 130k its a uk car and not had one before, had a wrx and an sti like i mentioned. are these any good? drives well enough.
anyway im looking at some mods, thinking maybe start with turbo, are there any upgrades out that that i can use with out having to make any other major mods? id like approx 300bhp its only running 208bhp standard at moment as its completly un-modded so far.
any ideas would help me out greatly, thanks all.

Hi mate look at doing the following
staright through de cat exhaust
uprated panel filter/cold air induction
fuel pump upgrade
bigger injectors
remap
that should see you close to your target and with the bigger turbo you will probably go beyond that.

Loads of different options with the fuel pump etc. Depends if you want reliability. Most people say walbro but others have said mappers included that they aren't as good as some of the other makes like Bosch.
You will not pass the mot with that exhaust regardless of what people say. just put the cats back in or do what I do and find yourself a friendly garage in this case my Uncle's mate.
Its so easy to change the pump. Have a look at the breaking section there are loads of uprated injectors or ones that have been reflowed. Just check they are sutible for your car before you but then because the versions do differ.
And most importantly you will need a remap.

There are quite a few tutorials. I think its easier on the later models of classic. I haven't done it myself so can't really say.

Welcome back mate
440cc injectors will see you over 300bhp 550cc are newage injectors and they are topfeed, you need side feed injector, but you may want to consider the milage of you car mate before you have it at 300bhp.
VF23/24
Maybe STI intercooler
440cc injectors
Walbro 255
remap
Panel filter
im sure that can get you to your target but you need to know the history of you engine before spending money on your engine and end up with a poped engine.

I'm not sure how it looks on the classic it might be some clips honling it on. Try it up to that point on yours and see where you are from there. I don't have a classic any more so can't do it.
If you get stuck post some pics up and we will try and help you. Where abouts are you based.

An engine that's done 130,000 miles is tired, oil pump, water pump, bearings, rad, etc. These engines don't like to be tuned unless it's done sympathetically. 300bhp will be a lot for the old girl to take.
Realistically, would you be better selling it on against an STi?
