Question

Just wondering if anyone has removed their front bumper (stupidly repeating the subject)!

Just want to take it off & wondering where & how many fixings are holding it on & do I have to take off the covering in the wheel arches?

Regards

Johny.

you need to remove wheel arches... there are four bolts under the bonnet... 17mm If I remember correctly.. Near the battery and near the filter thing on the left... a few 10 / 12mm in the wheel arches.. and one in the middle under the reg?

Cant remember exactly though.. Very simple to remove..

Hi just removed my front bumper last week, here's how :

First remove grill, spots & indicators and unclip wiring plugs.

Loosen off wheel arch liners to allow access to behind bumper. There's a 10mm bolt at the top of each liner and 2 or 3 plastic clips. Once these are removed you will be able to move the liner to access the 12mm bolt either side which attatch top corner ends of the bumper to the body work. There is also another clip on the inside near the bottom of the bumper

1 12 mm bolt on front of the bumper below regplate

4 17 mm in engine bay. (2 on each side)
-Passenger side - in front of the battery,
-Driver side - in front of air box, underneath power steering fluid resevoir. I found it easier to move this out of the way to allow access by removing the 2 10mm bolts which attatch the securing bracket to the chasis)

2 flat 17mm bolts underneath behind bumper, approximately in line with spots.

Once everything has been removed, the bumper should pull out slightly to allow access to detatch the hose for the headlight washers. Then completely remove bumper.

It sounds simple but the plastic clips in the wheel arch are a pain in the **** and they break easy.

Ian
