Quarter of a litre for 600 miles isnt so bad. Mine doesnt use any but some would say 1000 miles to a litre is ok

1/4l per 600 is fine... probably just a weeping rocker cover gasket.

As Tony says (or didn't say in this manner), but is it bolloxs OK (or insinuated to be the norm) to be using oil on a (what we assume) standard 2ltr Scoob engine.

If your 2ltr is using oil something is causing it and on a standard example that is good, this should not be the case!

210k??? Bloody hell. Just shows, if you look after your scoob then it will look after you. Good going fella.
