Default Subaru engine not starting

Hi, I have a subaru impreza wrx with engine yr 97, i have been experiencing this problem for quite some time now..

My engine does not start.. i can hear the starter doing a (pak pak sound) but nothing else.. but if i wait for another 5 minutes to try starting again it will start.. what is the problem according to you?

Please help me out bcoz it is very annoying when you are on the road you car's engine goes off and you're not sure if it will start again or not..

I changed the battery recently with a new one but problem persists..

So are you saying it cuts out on you, or are you saying it won't start again when YOU turn it off?

Sounds like starter to me from what you're describing

If you get caught short try giving it a few taps to get it turning again but ideally needs replacing asap

Yup, had an MR2 that did that. Whack it with a hammer then try again... ;-)
Either that, or (ideally) replace the starter motor.

Worth checking the connection on the starter hasn't come loose and the same for the earth strap on the engine.
It's an easy enough job to diagnose if it is the starter if you have a multi-meter though.

You, sir, are an idiot.

With your arogant attitude I doubt anyone will want to help you.
I certainly will not in the future.
I hope your engine dies.

Merry Christmas, idiot.
