Default Oil pressure switch

Started fitting my gauges today, fitting the remote pipe and t-piece and screwed my OEM oil pressure switch into the t-piece. I extended the cable so it could still be plugged in - however now it doesnt work? I get no oil pressure light on my dash at all. The gauge works fine. Iv checked for continuity between the switch and the cable from where i extended it is there is continuity. would this mean that the oil pressure switch maybe gave up on me when i removed it?

I ended up soldering a small earth wire to the body/nut part of the o/e sensor. Then earthing the other end. Its the only way i could get a good solid earth with no resistance at all

I had this when I RE-fitted my OE water temperature gauge sender into the top-hose, when the Defi w/t sender took it's place in the block.

I had to earth it, and was surprised to see that the £17 turned metal piece I'd bought to fit it into the top-hose had NO provision for earthing. I had expected at least a grub screw on one corner.

In the end I found a large ring connector, filed it until it was a tight fit over the w/t sender threads, and tightened the w/t sender down onto that, soldering a lead from it to a suitable earth.

But tbh, when you spend £17 on a part, why hasn't that been thought out?

All sorted, ended up making my own earth link to the OEM switch as there was no earth on the T-piece. Oil pressure light now working as normal.
Many thanks to everyone who replied, saved me a hassle

Clipped to what? No room on the sender, it would have been dangerously close to the live output, and where else?
