Lightbulb VF37 Actuator Fitting Problem

I recently bought this item off eBay:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayIS...X:eRTM:AU:1123

When I went to have it fitted it would not seem to line up. Tried moving the mounting bracket to the edge of it limits and still not even close. My old actuator has a dog’s leg on the actuator rod and an angled bracket; this is a picture of a standard one from a quick search:

http://www.i-club.com/forums/subaru-...tuator-217093/

I have spoken to the guy I got it from and he is adamant that it is the right actuator. I have a 04 STI JDM which I believe it’s the VF37 turbo. I will upload some pictures when I get home. Has anyone ever had anything similar when fitting an actuator to a VF37 or do you think it might just be a case of getting a new bracket or is it the totally wrong actuator? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can you not just simply reuse the existing bracket? i.e. will the new actuator/bolts fit through the already in situ's bracket's hole?

I had to do this when I fitted a Forge T2 act. to my 20g (as I needed a 17-20psi rated spring!)...

But the 20g had a bespoke - cobbled-up/Heath Robinson lol - bracket on it, so as to be able to clear the comp snail (the bolt holes on the snail weren't in the usual position). Obviously the new Forge bracket wouldn't clear the snail but, fortunately, the Forge T2 actuator fitted through the old bracket's hole just fine, etc. Then just used the new T2's circlular brass shim/washer thing to tighten the act. body up to the old bracket. Sorted.

The standard actuator and bracket are one complete looks like it's spot welded. Anyways after email the guy again and mentioning the word "dispute" all of a sudden he has realised that his "partner" has sent out the wrong part so hopefully it will all be sorted soon.

Let us know how it goes.

'Cause I still have my Forge T2's redundant bracket still available - who knows, it might just fit (or be made to fit).

If you don't get anywhere with the replacement bracket form the seller, then PM me and I'll send you my bracket to try. No charge.

i have one of these fitted to my vf36 in my legacy, although its clocked compressor housing it fitted fine in the before i clocked it too.

You can see the slight bend in mine here:

So is one you got straight leg? If so they sent you the wrong one!
