Default Should I fit vf24 or just go down the remap route?

After a bit of advice really.
I have an 01 UK wrx with a few mods so far.
Uprated dynapex fuel pump
Perrin Silicone Turbo intake pipe
Decat Cobra 3" turbo back system
Green Panel filter

I have a VF24 with reasonably low mileage and a classic uppipe sat in the shed.

My question is do I just get a remap with what I have fitted now and be happy with circa 270bhp or fit the turbo and uppipe and hit 300 (limited by injectors I believe). Would be an appreciative difference or should I sell the turbo and put it towards the remap?
Cheers in advance.

You should see a little more than 300BHP but too much more. I have a VF24 on my wagon and its an awesome turbo im my opinion.

Fit it and map it, get a fuel pressure regulator and you'll see over 300 best of both worlds

Part of the fun is the car evolving slowly over time and gaining a nice wedge over power until you get bored with it and then go for more.

However the fact you have the turbo already kind of says just fit it and get it mapped

Funds are low at the moment for indulgent stuff and the sale of the turbo would go a long way towards the remap but I dont think I would be happy with the smaller increase with the original td04. The IHI is in great condition so would rather hold onto it but the wait is killing me!

The vf24 is one of the faster spooling turbos though isnt it?

They're not worth that much tbh mate. They are however an awesome little turbo and you would be a complete tool not to fit it.

I agree Gary it would be rude not to, it would also be daft fitting it if a remap isnt forthcoming, its sat there looking at me...wanting me to fit it.....the urge.....must resist!
Get your finger out and learn subaru mapping, you now owe it to yourself being back in ownership again!

Not really, but not really that laggy either.

Around 3000rpm compared to 2500rpm on td04, roughly.

I meant to say out of the larger (standard kit on some imprezas).
Well, its all fitted (decat uppipe and VF24) and map tweaked down until I get a set of pinks in. What a horrible job swapping turbos and uppipes though. Sheared studs etc are a royal pain.
