Default Prodrive ECU

Hi all, I have a 2007 Hawkeye STI. As far as i'm aware it has a standard fuel pump & air filter. It has an aftermarket exhaust with only one CAT removed. I was thinking about buying a prodrive ECU for it but not sure if it's a direct replacement? I would rather bigger power gains but I have heard the 2.5 engines have problems with pistons etc. Any help will be much appreciated. Lee.

Prodrive ECU is just a remap of the existing ECU and is included in the Prodrive Performance Pack together with removal of centre cat and replacement of backbox. The fuel pump is also uprated.

Therefore, perhaps you should uprate your fuel pump, change the exhaust to the way you want it and then book a mapper for a re-map. 2.5 can be pushed to about 360 bhp without any other mods or affect on reliability.

Prodrive Performance Pack raises BHP to 316 but some cars have recorded as high as 337 on a Rolling Road.

Thanks for the reply mate. If I can get the car to roughly 360 bhp without affecting reliability I might just do what you said. Can the car be mapped without being put on a RR?

Hi mate , Why not get graham (engine mapper ) to map it , least then you have a custom map that suites your car ,only down the road from you , he usually maps it on dyno and finishes on road ...

cheers rich
