If you had anything on your Subaru to raise boost and an insurer asked me to look I reckon I would be able to find it so I am sure there are many others who could. Play safe and declare everything.

The post was about a valve of which there are a few varieties. I don't think there is such a thing as a "variable ECU". See the Dawes FAQ from the link in my profile for a load of threads on the Dawes manual boost controller.
Details of model, year, existing mods would be helpful.

Its a uk 98 (R) My mate is buying it off another mate, so I can easily find out more about it, just not at the minute. So I thought the nest best thing would be to come on here! Most of it is hidden, with only a wire connected to a T-piece showing. On the T-piece is an adjustable screw! If that helps?

The main part of it is in the engine management box under the carpet of the car. the only visible part is a small tube about 3mm thick and 6inch long with a small metal end and a screw on the top. its located behind the air box and can be hidden underneath it. you turn the screw to alter the boost. it goes to 19psi but im running it at about 16psi at the moment

You can build a Super"chip" for 6p and a glob of solder using only a 10mm spanner, pliers, soldering iron and insulating tape. And it would be equally (but no more) $hite and dangerous No offence

shut it Banks and do some studying for those exams on Wednesday
by the way,if we can work out this from the given description,I'm sure a clued up assessor could.I'm sure they will check at the ecu if the claim was big.if you bought the car second had you could say you did not know.the bleed valve itself might be overlooked but the fcd would **** you up as that raises the boost above standard.
it is your risk,a bit like a superchip
