Default intercooler blank

Hi,

Need to make a blank for my TMIC I made a template out of cardboard now what sort of thickness ally should I be using?

Or does somebody have 1 they made earlier? Lol

Just cut a piece of sheet steel,tin or aluminium the same shape as yor dumpvalve base plate and then bolt it in along with dumpvalve. Dumpvalve blanked off, no need for bungs etc and still looks factory

Costs nothing as you just use off cuts.

What year is your car? I USED TO HAVE a spare plate for my99/00 intercoolers you can have for nowt, wont fit newage they are different shape plate

Damn! Mine is a bug its ok I got some 2mm ally here and some snips so will just do that and then don't have to worry about the metal being slightl out of shape as the DV will pull it in

yep, though try and get it as flat as possible as you dont want to be overtightening the studs on the intercooler as you can very easily strip the threads as its just aluminium. but it will pull it flat

wee smear of silicone sealent between plate & dumpvalve also. dont need it on other side as you use the original gasket between intercooler & plate.
