Default New wheel bearing on my classic...?

Just fitted my new wheel bearing, was looking at it after and it seems to have play still, not as much though.
Now either i messed up slightly as i did leave the plastic bit (Comes as part of the packaging and protection.) in by mistake when pressing the flange in and then when the flange hit it i had to stop compressing as it caused resistance, then once i took it out and carried on pressing, the press made that lovely clunk you get when pressing.
Or i was told they some times have play till you put the driveshaft in and tighten it all up?
My spare hub though doesn't have movement when it's off the car?

Thanks

You haven't fitted the driveshaft and tightened the nut yet?

Not yet, i have a spare hub on at the moment and took my other to work to put a new bearing in.
The spare doesn't have the Whiteline bump steer kit , and it's easier to replace the wheel bearing as well as hammering at a £120 ball joint kit to possible damage that ha.
I didn't notice any play on the spare though and that wheel bearing is fine.

Thanks

I'd say that because you haven't put the driveshaft in and torqued down the nut it hasn't pulled everything up like it should do Once that is done you can probably undo the nut and there won't be that play anymore

Sounds good to me! I hope it is, that would make sense. I'm putting it on tomorrow so fingers crossed.
Everything was supported correctly when i was pressing it, so either i was just unlucky or it's fine.
Worst comes to worst, more time and another £30.

Thanks

I think you'll be fine, I would expect there to be play now because everything hasn't been pulled up 100% I can't think of any other reason why there would still be play unless you've damaged the hub and I can't see that.
