Default 440s to 900s diy injector mod

after some research and advice i thought against the odds i would try to mod these phase 2 440s and make them flow around 900cc, they will be going for testing and cleaning tomorrow and i will post up the results for those intrested as this if all goes well will be an easy option for larger injectors as bigger ones are like hens teeth lol,

440s with new seals and fitting collet to fit vers 1/1.5 rails

removed the end cap ready for surgery

removed the metel gauze carefully with the dremmel to reveal the pin

built back up ready for testing

well i hope this works , we will see in 3 days with flow charts ect,
well opinions on this working please,
steve

Should work - I have the same setup with modified 440s now rated at around 800 (forget the exact rating). Car has been mapped and runs fine with them. Am going to a bigger turbo later this year to make full use of them.

Is that an "hmmmmmmmmmmmm" - where is my Dremel ?

The engine builder I used recommended it as a sensible cost saving

wont the spray pattern be pretty crap doing this tho ? ie a fine line of fuel instead of atomizing ?

the end of these now are the same as the vers 1/1.5 so i would think they will be the same,. the vers 1/1.5`s have just 1 hole in the end,.

The issue of the spray pattern is certainly open to discussion - but how do you easily make a measured comparison ?. I am not looking to extract the very last bhp out of the engine but am aiming for around 420 bhp on a build that is able to take more. Under the circumstances, it was a cheaper route than buying 800 to 900 injectors. The purist may disagree ?

with all due respect, if you have a build than can take more than 420bhp you have obviously spent some cash on it, why scrimp on something as crucial as fuel injectors ?

Horses for courses - my aim is low 400's with a reliable build. The 440s were relatively new and it was a cost effective option. When I put the larger turbo on later this year, results may change my mind and I may take a different route.
