Question fault code 32, should i worry?

1996 wrx v limited
just flying home on a1 120ish and check engine light came on. slowed right down until i got home then plugged self diagnostic leads together its reading code 32 which is o2 sensor?
has anyone else had this code appear and where did they go from there? will be driving occasionally but will keep it off boost.
any help would be greatly appriciated thanks.

I think there was a typo, you myst have meant 70 (mph) or 112 (Kmh) surely?

absolutley i meant 70mph. have you ever had this code appear? is it as simple as just fitting a new o2 sensor or could it be something else

Common problem... MAF sensor is gone or going... You can reset your ecu and start it from there. If it appears again , change MAF sensor, reset the ecu and you'll be fine... Some one might correct me or add some other ways, im speaking from personal experience....

Hope this helps.

Code 32 is the 02/lambda sensor.
It's not critical if you can't get it done right away.It will probably just run a little rich.
You could reset the ecu and see if it comes up again but it's not a hugely expensive part.

have you had this fault code come up before then mate? i was wondering whether it could be a maf issue but it was bringing up the o2 sensor code as a result of it playing up?
ive got the battery disconnected now so will check again fault codes in a few hours. fingers crossed it would have gone. i was hoping it might just of been cos i thrashed it abit as its not been thrashed for a while.

Yes mate mine comes up if I do a diagnostic check but it doesn't bring the light on.
A few months ago I changed the maf because it started hunting on tickover and it cured it.The hunting is quite common when the maf goes on it.
Was your's idling ok before the light came on?

the idle seems to be ok ive just fitted the standard recirc dumpvalve. it used to have a BOV and it idled funny and even cut out ocassionally. since putting the recirc on it has solved the prob!
i assume by idle hunting you mean it idles unsteady?

Yeah the idle will sit there going from about 500 rpm to 1200 just going randomly up and down.
I'd reset it first and just monitor it over the next few days.If it comes up again then it's worth changing when you get chance.
