Default brake problem

hi basicly today coming home from work the brakes went funny il describe it the best i can coming up to brake so foot on the pedal then i got like a vibration/judder and what seemed to be like no brakes for a second the peddle went down a bit more then they worked again this happened all the way home going to get it checked out tomorow but just wondard what you guys thought not having a great deal of luck with this car up to now

Sounds like your pads have crashed or you have knackard disks.

How were you driving just before the brakes went funny?

sounds like an abs sensor to me,. but hey what do i know,.

yep sound like abs cutting in. id guess on a cracked ring or the sensor itself

wouldn't there be a warning light come on ?

tbh i dont think these even come up on the fault codes so its a case of inspect the rings and then get a good sensor and swap them 1 by 1 road testing it after each swap, infact i just remembered you can test them with a multi meter which somone on here hopefully will be able to help you more with as im unsure of how this is done,. steve

ok thanks could do with someone who knows there way round these cars to have a good look at it theres more than one problem that needs sorting do you no of anyone in the nottingham area

been to the garage today the front discs and pads are new he took the back brake drums of the shoes are fine he did say the drums could do with replacing though i did drive it there and back obviously and it didn't do it once

sounds like you just hit the brakes too hard and ABS kicked in - roads wet when it happened? or even a bump on the road when braking can set it off ive found

it wasn't wet mate and i didn't brake hard was creeping along stuck in traffic when it first happened then it continued to do so all the way home but today its been fine both on the way and back from the garage very odd
