Need urgent help people please... Im tring to confirm I have the right diff to match a gearbox,
I bought a dccd box and supposedly matching diff off scam bay and now I'm hoping I haven't been had by a scammer.
I have just recently installed the box and diff ect ( no engine in yet)
When I spin the front wheels they spin in oposite directions but when I spin the rears they spin in the same direction..

I have a v5 type r but the box is from a v4 all the gear ratios are the same and it's a dccd box I believe the only difference is the conversion from a 4 to 8 pin on the housing.

In hindsight I was too impatient and should have waited for a v5 box to come available on sn but there was none about at the time so opted for a what seemed a good deal on eBay.

I really need to find out if the diff matches the box and that everything is compatible b4 I drop the engine in, can some please advise on what is the best way to check

Aslong as the ratios are the same u will be fine.what's the gearbox code?
Take the end plate off the diff and look for the numbers if you get 40:9 for instance you divide them from each other to make 4.444 so aslong as box match s a 4.444 diff your ok.

This is the v5 box I should have got:

JDM Impreza WRX STi R & RA Ver. V/VI MY99-00 TY754VB1CA 3.083 2.062 1.545 1.151 0.825 3.333 1.000 4.444 DCCD (35:65) Open Helical FLSD avail. 12/99 on regular STi RA (optional?).

This is the box I have:

When u say end plate do u mean the cover that protects the front of it by the end of prop or is it something I have to move from diff ?

On the back end of the rear diff (opposite were the prop goes on).
