Default RUST in the cooling system (impreza GT)

what up
impreza gt `99 here
i got this rust all over the cooling system. the plastic reservoir, the turbo reservoir, all rusty and brownish.even i have something like brown paste stuck inside the plastic coolant reservoir
got any idea how to remove all the rust?
here is what it look like

I would say oil is getting into the system personally.

Looks like the system need draining, then flushing and re filling with the correct antifreeze.

I dunno, ive seen that on hg's before, though the first thing would be to flush the cooling system, suppose to be done every couple of years but people diy their cars just do oil changes so....

The brown paste makes me think it might be your head gasket gone.

Get a sniff test done.

Is it a a easy DIY guide to flushing the system or a garage job
Bear in mind I only just managed to change a fan belt

my 1st scooby did this and it was the head gasket

drain it flush it put a hose pipe and flush it fill it and put anti freeze in it the rust of the outer barrels, looks to me its never had any anti freeze in it.
Ide say if it was head gasket it would be pressurising also there be oil in that water.
just drain my forester and it was the same

before flushing take thermostat out shove hose in hose that connects to lh top side of rad the hose not the rad and flush away .

lmao look at the cap man , its all rusty, and its smells like crap, like metal , u know its called RUST ????

@SLAB how to flush it exactly ?
i didnt quite understood the whole process
