Default Engine Light Help

hi there people ive just recently done the head gaskets on my 52plate wrx, whilst the engine was out and in bits i noticed the uppipe cat had started breaking up so i replace it with a scooby clinic decat up pipe and also replace the headers with some japspeed headers without refitting the sensors so now my eml lights on, i was wondering if anybody knows how to fool the ecu without mapping them out? cheers

Would a mapper actually charge full price to read ROM, disable EML warnings, and flash the ROM back onto the ECU?

Sorry to hijack your thread but I had posted about my light not working at all, not even when starting the car. How easy is it to enable/disable the eml light? I know I have faults as my reader has reset them but it would be nice if it worked as it should?

Any ideas?

Has your car been remapped?

I have no idea mate, only had the car for just over a month. Its a non Turbo so wouldn't have though it was worth remapping? It was fully decatted but I've now fitted the cat back to quite it down a it, which doesn't really work when you have an afterburner vortex exhaust.

There's no paperwork to say its been remapped.

I thought it was maybe just the bulb had been taken out but I pulled the binnacle out and there is no bulb for it, its an led soldered straight to the board.

Front O2 sensor is possible disable via RomRaider or EcuFlash SW,but for this you will need Tactrix cable which cost around £100,SW is free.

If you are at Kent area there is Slowboy Racing, which is located near Brands Hatch

The o2 sensor is not the problem, the actual eml light doesn't come on at all

You are sure you have have errors?

Maybe you have just Historic Error codes which are still stored in ECU

If that was the case, then wouldn't the light still come on, then go off when you start the car?
