Default Driver Side Electric Window Switch Wiring

How would i go around changing the OEM switch for the driver side to a switch like this:

Looking at the door unit, the four top wires are for the driver side and passenger side, is it as simple as cutting the 2 wires for each side and connecting it to a toggle switch?

Also the OEM switchs has the automatic fuction when it's clicked down a bit further, is this something in the unit that allows this or the wiring?

Is this more complicated than i think? Is there power going to the OEM unit?

Thanks

First question: WHY do you want to do this?

It's nowhere near as easy as it looks.

My car is stripped for track and drag and i have no door cards or anything and want rid of the units to replace them with toggle switches elsewhere.

Thanks

From what I know about mirror wiring, I'd assume the window wiring would be the same.
That is, that any PAIR of wires does up/down, where current flows one way for up and vice-versa for down.

All you can do is use a short section of wire to short across the two terminals you SUSPECT do the window up/down and see what happens.

Yeah that's what i'll do then, just wasn't sure on the automatic down part, must be the unit that provides the current for a given time.

Thanks

Could be a latch in the switch?

Hmm, what's interesting is the passenger switch is a single switch that has 5 wires, yet the drivers sider switch has 2 for the divers window and 2 for the passenger window.

Thanks
