Default Universal Lambda Sensors - Urgent

Hi all

I need to purchase a new Lambda sensor for my car, Subaru specific ones tend to be well into the 100's which is rather pricey, however there are numerous universal ones available at a snippet of the price.

Can anyone advise providing i buy a 3 wire one the same as my car that it will fit and work being universal? I dont really understand how the sensors work.

Thanks

David

Three wire sensor works the following way; two wires are for the heater coil and are usually the same clour and the polarity does not matter. the third wire is the signal wire. the three wire lambda earths through the exhaust system (four wire has an additional earth wire) hope this helps. Any three wire will work

Thanks mate. I ordered one on eBay for £28 delivered, there were some for £12.50 but they seemed a little too cheap for my liking! Lets hope the Lambda fixes my problem.

Thanks
