Default Changing NPS Tips

My car was at my friends garage today, and he said he couldn't access the NPS. I could see the wires, but said there was no way he could get to it to change it.

He said he undid something at the rear end of the gearbox, to try to drop it, but it wouldn't budge. He didn't spend too long on it as he was so busy, but does anyone have any tips I could give him?

Cheers

Yes you need to drop the back of the gearbox as the switch on the 6 speed box is on the top.
You'll need to release the back mount and the stabiliser bar under the intercooler.

Sorry to sound thick, but whats the stabiliser bar? I have a front mount, so should be easier to access said bar?

It's the engine stabiliser that goes from the bulkhead to the engine, to control engine movement. As you've got a FMIC it'll be in full view.

Oh, that one! I see, I didn't realise you need to remove that one too actually. Cheers!

Drop the rear Gearbox cradle down and take the pitchstopper off to allow the box to tilt and reach over the top of the box with a spanner it will come out, Those that state it impossible, Its not. done loads like the method mentioned & I'm sure others have too

By insitu I simply mean without tilting the box as explained above.
Quite happy to have clarified that for you.
