Default 95 WRX CRANKING WITH ONLY TWO SPARKS AFTER TIMING BELT REPLACED !!???

Hi crew,

quick question,
Had head gaskets and timing belt done on my 95 wrx,

the car went in the garage and it it was starting and running...
now they have rebuilt the lump and put it back in the car it's cranking over but wont fire up and is only sparking on the front two cylinders...

The garage believe its the ignition module/ amplifier causing the issue,

seems strange that it was fine before and now its not ?

Any help would be appreciated guys

cheers

:-)

Did they put the cam pulleys in the correct location? All 4 of them are different and even though they can be interchanged, the car won't start. Are you sure the timing is spot on?

The ignitor module rarely fails (I've never even heard of a case of one failing).

What ya mean 'passing the buck' mate?

Also today they have tested the output on the ignition module and two of the pins are pushing a low voltage compared to the other two ??
Iv taken another module down to see if thats the case,

if it was timed up wrong or the pulleys were wrong it would still spark at all four plugs wouldn't it ?

if they have tested the ignighter pack and its moosed then all is well isnt it, as for passing the buck a number of things could have been done wrong and they were blaming the module as an escape lol, strange though as these things are pretty much bullit proof, hope all goes well

Changed ignition module still no joy,

if the cam pulleys are on wrong as such, would the car still create a spark?

the issue is the rear two cylinders are not firing atall , all was good when it went in the garage now they are suggesting i use a auto electrical company to test the car for wiring problems ???

could be as there are 2 marks on it and when timed to the wrong mark its about a quater of a turn out and a nats nacker of clipping a valve
