Default Idle hunting after MAF clean

Cleaned the maf and filter on my MY00 classic today. Used carb/intake cleaner on the maf and the proper K&N stuff for the filter.

Even after a run and the car is up to temperature the idle is hunting bigtime and almost stalls.

Do I have to diconnect the battery to reset the ecu (has an ecutek map) or have I stuffed the maf completely? Runs ok, boosts ok etc, just wont idle correctly.

Any help (or a spare green stripe maf) is appreciated.

What he said, the MY99/00 mafs have a very fragile membrane, think you have damaged it
replace with new maf.

really need some help here. A mate gave me a spare maf at the weekend and I fitted it today. It came off him MY99 and he said it was ok but i've fitted it and left the battery disconnected to reset the ecu and now its throwing up the check engine light.

Thing is, the one he gave me doesnt have the green stripe on it and mine does.

It runs, but the CEL is permanently on, any ideas?

If it has no green stripe then its a very old MAF. I had the same idle hunt as you. replaced with a brand new (£110) ecu reset and all is well. see attached link of a video i post of what my car was doing. https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...-attached.html
