Arrow HOW TO: Oil Temperature Sender/Gauge fitting on 3rd Cylinder

Have edited title so it's a little easier to source for others :-)

V4 JDM STI
Where ACTUALLY is this 'bung' above the 3rd cylinder? I've had a pretty good look around and can't find it? also whats the actual fitting process? does my sunder screw straight in? do i need to buy something that it fits into - to screw into the block? there's plenty 'how to' on here when i use the search, but not step by steps or anything.

all help appreciated

Exactly the same on a 2l and yes you will need an adapter that screws into the block then the sensor screws into that.

One of these,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3rd-Cylind...item336c409a5e

Use some PTFE tape on the adaptor and on your temp sensor before fitting to give you a good seal(NOT insulation tape, lol, for anyone that remembers that fiasco)

Gaz.

AH-HA!
Splended fellas - thanks for this!

would ordinary shrink wrap be alright to protect the wires from where it's situated to firewall?
Have quoted the information incase Ebay goes tats up and the advert disappears
Specific For The Subaru Impreza:
R-Spec 3rd Cylinder brass Sensor Adaptor For Easy Fitment of Oil Temperature Sensors / oil remote kits on the Subaru Impreza.

This adaptor is made from solid brass and offers a simple solution to the fitment of oil temperature sensors into the existing 3rd cylinder blanking hole located on the Subaru's engine block. The quality is superb and unlike most adaptors It's supplied with a specific oil graded dowty seal.

Suitable for sensors or remote kits with a 1/8npt thread (This is the common size for most aftermarket sensors).
R-Spec Performance Products Ltd is probably the largest gauge supplier in the UK and we hold everything in stock ready for immediate dispatch. We have 1000's of gauges & pods etc in stock so please check our other Ebay items or just contact us with your requirements so that we can list it for you.

Should be fine with some heatshrink on , Just try and avoid the turbo and downpipe area, take the wire across to the throttle cable side before the turbo and you should be fine
