Default Harvey Smith Uppipe Info

Hi guys, nothing sinister, bought a new Harvey Smith uppipe from a member on here who never fitted it to their car Had a look inside the pipe and noticed a join inside as the pipe is slip overlaid, is this normal. Assumed the pipe would be a one piece job as the ones supplied with the GT spec headers. Obviously this is a venturi but expected it to be one piece, just curious if this is indeed a genuine Harvey one???

Send Harvey a picture, he will know straight away if it is his handywork.

Tubular three bolt header sets can crack because of the stresses caused by the continual heat cycling. The solid uppipe supplied is very badly designed for best performance and putting a solid uppipe on tubular headers creates a long continuous pipe run with no place to relieve stresses. This is one of the advantages of my slip jointed uppipe designs on top of the performance gains. The slip joint relieves some of the stress so far less risk of headersets cracking and less chance of the header to uppipe gasket failling.

If you are sending photos I need quality photos to my PC as mobile to mobile photos just do not show what I need to see. E-mail address per profile.

You are not far away. We can fit your uppipe for a fixed £75 or look at it and give you confirmation but if it is slip jointed, three bolt and DEI heat wrapped it is mine. DEI wrap has a stitching down the side to act as an overlay guide.

Harvey
I'm hoping to buying a md321t just wondered if one of your up pipes alone would make better spool as can not afford headers straight away and would it be worth while?? Many thanks

Best header option with the 321V is GT2 Spec type but with my trick 3 bolt uppipe.
Save up and do it all at once and save money long term with only one mapping session. I can give you a good price for supplying and fitting headers and uppipe plus fitting the turbo and mapping if all done at the same time.

Makes no odds, MD321T or V.
Exactly Grant. I supplied Grant with a new trick uppipe a few months ago which I believe he has never fitted.
