Oil level readings on dipstick with oil cooler.
Just a daft one after a drunk evening know I need to top my oil up following my minor leak.
Where should the oil read on the dipstick with a oil cooler fitted from HOT & COLD?
I know the oil cooler needs to fill (with thermostat) and then leve to alow oil to drain.
Just wondering on the dipstick it should read oil levels on both HOT and COLD.
Cheers
Steve

I would have thought you would use the readings on the dipstick just as before?
Although the system now holds more oil, the sump itself should contain the same as it did before. I can see that the hot reading may be a little higher as the extra heated oil within the system may push the sump reading up.

Cool cheers for the reply John.
So basically check the levels on COLD.......then top up a little. Go for a small drive allowing the thermostat to open on the oil cooler and then fill up and go by dipstick then?
