Default CAIK- Need to map ?

Hi all, thinking of fitting a RCM induction kit to my scoob but was wondering how neccessary it was to have it mapped in ?

Car already has a few mod and is running approx 345ish, it has also been mapped once by B rawle,

needs mapping at the same time as fitting else its likely it will run roughly until it is mapped.

up to you, some people have had a CAIK fitted without a re-map and not had any problems. but im sure as usual with scoobynet someone will be along to tell you that you car will go bang!!lol ;-)

As standard they run rich so it would be ok to run without a map. But if its already been mapped then i would suggest getting it tweaked as you dont wanna run it too lean

Mine suffered from an extremely lumpy idle/cutting out and the journey to the mapper was difficult enough. As for running it on boost, I wouldn't even go there.

When mine was mapped after fitting CAIK it was running very lean, I would get a re-map personally.

Probably get it mapped just to be on the safe side !!

Yes you will need to tweek the map to get the Maf rescaled at least.

Going to see the guys at slowboy-racing for a detailed plan on what to do, want to do a bit more but car has done 105,000 now !!

Hi Tom,
cars good, was rebuilt by Paul Finch last year after a ringland failure. Unfortunately I blew the clutch at the pod on Saturday, literally half the material missing on the front side. All fixed now and ready to go. I am slowly learning what not to do.
