Default ECU reset advice.

Hi guys, well my first problem manifested itself and it picked the bank holiday to do it.
The MAF sensor needs changing,so I've ordered one and today I picked up a set of the security torx keys and removed it.
I've done some searching on here about resetting the ecu and also checked the type RA forum, but there seems to be a lot of different methods and some just sound like they've been made up.
One of the weird ones I've read is to press the brake pedal while someone reconnects the battery.

What is the best methods for resetting the ecu on the 99/2000 cars?
Also I'd like to know what is the best method for running the car straight after changing the maf and resetting?
I'm hoping this thread could be useful for people having maf problems.
The tool needed to remove the maf is a T20 security torx key.
The maf part number for the 99/00 classics is 22794AA010.

Thanks.

Danny.

Excellent link there mate, thanks for that.
So if you can't find the plugs under there and have to do it another way, like disconnect the battery overnight, what should you do when you start it up then?
Sorry for the dumb questions,I'm still pretty new to scooby's.

After hanging upside down for what feels like an ice age I finally found the green and black connectors, wooohooo.
They were tucked up above the loom and well hidden.
My replacement maf won't be here till after the weekend so I might have a practice reset tonight.
Since I put the old maf back in the hunting idle has stopped but it's getting changed anyway just in case.

Danny.
