All you can fit without mapping is a replacement TD04, the standard turbo. Next step is a TD05 16g or VF35, but both require mapping and in the case of the VF35, bigger injectors to make the most of the gains. (not sure about the td05)

all changes of turbo will need mapping as said.

choices are vf35 vf34 or sc36 which would be the pick of the bunch.

you'll also need to do the fuel pump and injectors on the wrx as well

The list will be, STI top mount intercooler, STI pink injectors, VF35/VF34, uprated fuel pump. As you have a de-cat, that'll see you over 300bhp. Please think about braking, as the 4 pots are only just man enough for the standard power.

As above best turbo on yours will be VF35 or VF34,V30 or even TD05-16G,but you must have STi pink injectors for best benefit,3-port boost solenoid,Walbro 255lph i would too recommend.Remap is needed for all parts above.

Best to do is source all parts before remap and fit in once and you will save more money.

https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...4-a-turbo.html

From the description they described it as being from JAWAREHOUSE.COM. The link above should put you off. Post a wanted thread for a VF35 on here, you should get one for £250-300.

The td05 20G is not ideal for either a wrx or uk2000 cars unless you want a quick route to a 3k rebuild.

It all depends how its mapped at the end of the day, I have a mint 20g coming my way soon with all relevent mods, it will always give me the opportunity to get more power later on, if thats what I want up to 400ishbhp, Its also the amount of torque that can damage the engine if its too high and again thats down to your mapper.

On low boost will be OK,just if you want more boost, you must know, your gearbox/clutch will be first and depends on engine if its hold power and how long.

New age WRX are little bit stronger than older WRX.

I have this bad boy waiting to go onto my bugeye WRX, shouldnt be far off the power of a vf35 neither with a reasonable spool up too.

remember you dont HAVE to fit the smallest turbo and screw it right up to its limmit for the power level you are running! a slightly bigger turbo is a good thing imo, the air charge will be cooler, the engine less stresssed for the same power level as a smaller turboed unit it will rev more freely at higher revs. I always feel a turbo at the top end of its efficentcy bracket makes a car feel restricted and has an adverse effect on underbonnet temperatures. just my feeling of course, and i like the all or nothing driving with the td05 20g, coming on song strongly at 3500 rpm is what turbo motoring is all about!
