management light
I've got a bug eye wrx and the engine management light is on,diagnostics said it was crankshaft positioning sensor. This was replaced and fault code cleared. But once the engine is started the same light and fault code re-appear. Anybody had the same problem? Any ideas?
I dont personally know what the code was, auto spark plugged in his laptop and the crank shaft was what it came up with. Car runs well and no problems at all with starting, idling etc. Just don't like the light being on.
It should go out after 5 re-starts. Typical Bug random CEL generator.
Bug DENSO ECU hates being near the rev limiter and throws CEL's. As mentioned it's usually a camshaft position sensor error (bet it was) . Try cleaning the sensor.......sometimes helps

not to ask a daft question but what fuel are you running?
If i run anything other than s/unleaded the management light flicks on as if to say "dont be a skin flint, put some tidy juice in me"

Found out what the problem was. When getting diagnostics carried out use a main dealer, turned out all along it was the fuel ratio sensor. Light on dash is off and cars going great, smoother, better throttle response and better fuel economy. Not exactly cheap but job done.
