Default 56 plate WRX 2.5 Rebuild

Just had the news that my engine (2.5 wrx PPP) has blown both head gaskets. Anybody have an idea as to what the rebuild will cost?

gonna be your choice solely weather you do a headgasket job or a full rebuild..

the choice would be how long did it sit in the red if at all. Risk being block surface also needs skimming.

And at that point then its full rebuild with bearings and rings etc.

Wasn't in the red for long but advice is it its a head skim and, being PPP, may need big ends and rings

PPP makes no odds.

if the garage thats advising you for the work is saying " since its ppp" it needs this done, take it elsewhere, ppp is merly a few subaru auth mods.

Been advised that needs a skim, new rings and bearings- just looking for a ball park figure for doing this work in case I have to sell a kidney!

£1500 is a good price, £2000 a fair price, any more would be getting expensive in my opinion.

Out of interest, and to educate me, how much would a new engine be that could handle mods etc.. Thinking at £2k it wouldn't be much more for a new (stronger) one? Or am I way off?

The labour would be pretty much the same, so it would be a case of rods and pistons really + £800.00 depending on what you wantedto fit?
