help sound proofing

Exclamation help sound proofing

the wife is complaining about exhaust noise. i have heard you can have the car sound proofed????. has anyone had this done does it work and who can do it. hope some one can help as she is insistant i take the exhaust of. ( not happening )

would it be the same as sound system sound proofing if so i think theres a thread on here to do with it , but personally id just keep it how it is mate , just buy ur misses a set of ear plugs

i've got some dynamat in my car. nothing special, just cut it to shape so it fitted nicely under carpets/boot lining

1.Take a sheet of soundproofing
2. Cut into 2 small inch square sections, and a circular section 4 inches square
3. Get into vehicle placing wife in the passenger seat
4. Insert the 2 small sections in her ears.
5 If she complains, insert the larger section in her mouth.

Job done.

yes if only it was that simple fella did suggest ear plugs and i got the look only a wife can give lol

I'd get a quieter exhaust...because...

a) Loud exhausts are ghey
b) Sound proofing weighs a tonne and will make your car heavier and therefore slower

Easy choice IMHO, H&S Scooby Sport Exhaust

see i dont think its that load but she does its ano win situation really lol and i may end up being the one needs sound proofing if she carrys on

This is what you need I have it on my car (MY53 STi) and it also has a good side effect in that it makes you feel that your suspension has softened up a bit as it absorbs vibrations. More expensive than Dynamat, etc but worth it. Cost me c£240 full car fitted but that was a few years ago.
