Shouldn't be too hard to re-use the OEM re-circ. You may need to get an adaptor, which I think Harvey sells.

I'm using the OEM one on mine.

thanks, the fmic pipe has a outlet bit on it towards where the dump valve goes so im assuming that the pipe for dump valve will fit directly to it.

Have you got a pic of your OEM dump valve?

Yeah, you could remove all the associated water spray kit. I would keep it in case you put the car back to standard though.

havent got any pics atm,the intercooler has a right angled tube coming off of it with a hose attached, the recirc valve is pushed into this hose at the bottom, its a black plastic one that im assuming comes as oe on all v4 type r's.

Yeah the OEM one on a v.4 (and v.3) is black plastic, with the inlet and outlet at right angles to each other. You can reuse it.

You need a suitable bit of silicone to recirc it back to the recirc port on the turbo intake hose (if it's not already fitted). Also, don't forget the small 3-4mm vac hose that goes form the top of the DV to the inlet manifold...

Fit the FMIC first. Then worry about the intake after. You normally have to 'plan' the intake side of things once you know where/how the driver side FM's hard pipe sits...

but im hopeing i can just reuse the oe intake and fix the rcm induction kit to it which will hopefully run above the i/c pipe?

Yeah, most FMIC's allow the cone (and/or MAF/intake pipe) to run OVER the pipe. The Hybrid GT Spec and Spec2 does, for example.

But my Hyperflow one only allows the filter underneath - so it's quite a small filter (but good enough for big(ish) power, so not an issue).

You'll need a suitable reducer to connect the dump valve to the FMIC pipe.

That's how mine is plumbed in, yours will be slightly different though.

thanks for that, ill wait till the fmic and pipes arrive as there may be a reducer left on the existing fmic pipe.
hopefully anyway,if not.....is that likely to be the only thing i would need to complete the job including fitting the rcm kit?

sorry joz , i was actually refering to my tmic, but as above im hoping the fmic pipe comes with a reducer or similar,as it certainly has an outlet for the recirc valve at the top of the pipe(just before it goes to the throttle body) so im hopeing it will fit.ill have to wait and see.

if you look closely at the top you can see the outlet, the intercooler comes with all the pipes, silicone joiners etc so fingers crossed it will have the reducer with it.

All you need to do is measure the outer diameters of the DV's inlet port and the FMIC's DV port. Then get a suitable reducer silicone with the correct inner diameters. There're loads on eBay in all different shapes/sizes...

I think I know the one you're on about - on an early classic right?

That guide seems comprehensive enough if you ask me. But of course it will be different depending on the kit you've got i.e. pattern of pipes, etc...

its a 2nd hand hybrid fmic kit,the tmic i have is not the late one where the recirc valve bolts direct to i/c.
its the v4 and has a right angled outlet port on it which a pipe connects to(the recirc valve being in the other end of the pipe)

will my motor be ok to drive approx 140 miles with a fmic and induction kit fitted so i can get it mapped?

Yes, just don't use any boost. Drive normally with minimal throttle to get up to speed.

I'd bend harvey's ear when fitting it if you have probs. He's very helpful in that regard - plus he's fitted hundreds of the damn things lol...

Oh, and whilst you're doing it, then it would be a perfect opp. to replace the spark plugs...
