Shall I buy a Subaru WRX on Import
#1
HI
I am new to the Subaru scene and was questioning whether I should purchase a new subaru impreza from Alliance Car Imports for around £16,930 with met paint and 3 year warranty.
Can anyone tell me the good and bad points in owning a scooby.
Cheers

Fil,
Depends on your budget mate.
You won't as i am sure you are aware get a UK car brand new for £16k. However there are a lot of people on here how run import cars without any hitches.
You say you get a 3 year warranty with the car, but is that a Subaru warranty or 'Joe Bloggs' warranty. With a Subaru warranty you get three years, pretty much no quibble warranty on your car with an import i do not know how you stand.
Anyway goods points of scooby owner ship.
1) Great performance, handling, looks, noise etc. Generally good reliability unless you go mental with the mods.
Go and test drive one that usually makes up your mind.
2) Bad points, well not the cheapest car to run expect 20mpg on a good run 15ish when you've been enjoying yourself. Less on a track day.
Hope this helps, but as i said a test drive will make up your mind for you.

I will to try to clear up the warranty issue, i too bought direct from Belgium for £16,430 in October last year when you get the car here you will need to register it with Subaru UK (IM) for your 1st year warranty cover to be in place, your second and third year will be covered by the Belgium dealer, so if you have a fault the UK dealer will consult the Belgium one to get authorisation from them to complete the work.
Take no crap from the UK dealer about warranty, you will be fine.
