Default CEL P0420 fault code.

Hi, had the cel come on my car at the wkend got myself a fault reader and it's has a P0420 code. Does anybody know what it is, possible severity or can I just erase it?

The car's a 2005 wrx which was standard up till the autumn, where I had Alan Jeffery fit a de-cat up pipe, Prodrive sportscat dp, de-cat centre, ic pipe, Prodrive boost solenoid and supporting mods to get to 278 bhp. It was then re-mapped by them.

Any help greatly appreciated Lee

Hi Lee

P0420 is Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

If is this code,i think your front Lambda sensor is gone, cost around from £88-£120 from eBay for Denso genuine one or from dealer around £286.
