Lol, even if someone was to put money on offer to do it again, i don't think i would lol.

Around 5kg - 10kg, not a huge amount but a nice bit of weight lose to go towards the cage.
Then include all the door cars, rear seats, carpet, boot lining, roof lining and so on, prob a fair bit!

Thanks

It`s a pain in the ***! I found Intensive Tar remover and a hot air gun worked quite well, still took forever. I still haven`t done behind the dash yet either..

Is it not possible to use an angle grinder or something? Maybe with a wire brush wheel?

I think will be more,if you are replacing seats with some lighter(Sparco weight around 5-9kg) etc.,you will maybe save more weight with replacing glass on your doors with Perspex Lexan / Makrolon polycarbonate windows.

Think I removed circa 15kg in mine, can`t remeber the exact weight I got when I weighed the bag full of crap. Still not a massive amount though.

It's not hard at all in that sense, it's just very long, boring and requires effort.

Thanks

Hi Sam

you have still standard seats, probably is worth to switch/invest to proper bucket seats.
They weight lot less than standard.

Its easy to get off.

Wide screwdriver. Prise off what you can in big sheets or chunks. Then use citrus stain remover from Tesco on whats left. Spray on and wipe it off. Stain remover is £1 a can and I used 3 in total for the whole car. Took about half a day to do.

Don't heat it up it just makes it worse.

If I was doing it again though I wouldn't bother unless I was going to get rid of everything to save weight. The saving is not that great.

Everyone has slightly different methods it seems, Either way i`d say set aside a day for removing interior, stripping it and then re-fitting what bits you are keeping in.

Car is back and sorted now, went to Scoobyclinic in the end, Straightliners sorted the boonet, SC have done a pukka job. My clutch was fine, but sheared a half shaft clean off! Replaced with a standard one again for now, shouldn`t really have gone at my power level, I maybe have to be a bit more sympathetic to it...

She`s not a Spec C, just a JDM STi, had quite a few Spec C bits on it when it came off the boat, interesting life in Japan maybe? Still had a full compliment of sound deadening to remove.
