Engine cut out and SBF no. 5 blows
Hi - I have a 2001 Subaru Impreza WRX. Owned the car 2 weeks and the engine completely dies when at high speed (ie. over 6.5k revs). The RAC firstly discovered that the SBF no. 5 had blown - replacing this fixed the problem, however, this keeps happening, at high speed.
Would appreciate any suggestions / thoughts. It does have some mods, ie. a booster gauge (which still has the T junction but the solenoid has been 'cut' off) - not sure if this is related.
The engine coolant blower motor appears to be the fuse no5 - the coolant levels are all fine.
